Jillian Conrad (born Farmington, New Mexcio, USA) received a Bachelor of Science from St. John’s College, New Mexico and an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design, Rhode Island. Recent awards include the Artadia Artist’s Award (New York, NY), Houston Arts Alliance Individual Artist Grant (Houston, TX), and the Kittredge Trust (Boston, MA). She has participated in numerous residencies, including Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (NY, NY) Headlands Center for the Arts (Sausalito, CA), the Core Program at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston (Houston, TX), Triangle International Artist Residency (New York, NY), Lower Eastside Printshop (New York, NY), and the Marie Walsh Sharpe Space Program (New York, NY). Important recent exhibitions include Sites and Settlements, Behal Fejer Institute, (Prague, Czech Republic), Artadia Anniversary Exhibition, Longhouse Projects, New York, NY, Not-not-not Image Objects at Meulensteen Gallery, (New York, NY), and Vista at Socrates Sculpture Park (New York, NY); and her work has been discussed in numerous publications including ArtForum, Art Lies, New York Times, and …might be good. Jillian is an Associate Professor in the Sculpture Department at the University of Houston.
